The Greaten AP 300 Pro elevates the digital wind instrument experience for seasoned players. It boasts an expanded sound library of 108 high-quality voices with 8GB sound samples, including a wider selection of ethnic instruments for global musical exploration. The AP 300 Pro’s refined 7-octave metal roller provides even greater precision when navigating pitches. A new Pro edition is the integrated equalizer, allowing you to sculpt your sound and achieve the perfect sonic signature. While it retains the AP 300’s built-in speaker and Bluetooth connectivity, the AP 300 Pro caters to the needs of professional musicians seeking a more comprehensive digital wind instrument experience. And the good thing is we can update the firmware of AP 300 Pro by connecting it to a computer running Microsoft Windows and using the update tools to install the updated firmware.

You Can Call Me Al – Whistle Solo
Had to play this on a gig. I don’t own a Whistle in F, so I did it on EWI using the whistle patch. Worked great.
Greaten AP200/AP300
There seems to be more Electronic Wind Instruments out there than I know. Here is a company called Greaten, which makes TWO versions of an EWI. The difference between them can be found here. Basically, these look like Akai EWI4000/5000 clones. Which is NOT a bad thing. Now this would be an excellent thing if……IF……it…
Yet another Wind Controller Enters the Arena..
A company called MidiPlus is coming out with a wind controller called “Elesa”. No word on pricing, but it’s good to see more Wind Controllers out there.
Roland Aerophone AE-30 Repair
Things break….and usually at the worst time. Case in point…..I had a gig literally 2 days before Christmas. I had a rehearsal for it 5 days before. No problem, packed up the saxophones, the flute, stands, and AE-30. Get to the rehearsal……no sound from the AE-30. Huh. Bad cable? No. It was turning on. Volume…
DYI EWI?
Ok, this is rather cool. Someone has some OpenSCAD and STL of an “aspirational” EWI project. This would be rather nice to see finished. Anyone?
Aerophone AE-30 Stand Adapter
If you play the Aerophone solo, ie not in conjunction with like playing saxophone or something, I think the Aerophone stand you should get is the Koldot Digital Wind Instrument Holder. However, if you are playing saxophone, or saxophones, it get’s a little cramped having lots of stands around. And those stands have their own…
Robkoo R1 Preorders Begin
Seems like the Robkoo R1, which I first heard about back in July, is now accepting preorders. Not a bad price point. Will be interesting to see this out and about. Pretty good intro video here
Robkoo Wind Synthesizer R1
I really love this. For years, there were basically two choices for Wind Controllers. Either ones from Akai or Yamaha. Then Roland entered the space, then controllers like the NuRAD. Now, another contestant has entered the arena….the Robkoo Wind Synthesizer. It has some very interesting design choices, including a horizontal orientation. Like….that’s cool. All kinds…
Wireless Transmitters For EWI
There is a plethora of wireless guitar transmitters out there for Guitar that will work with your EWI (Aerophone or Akai). I have two, the Lekato 5.8ghz ones, and the NUX B-5RC (2.4ghz). The Lekato is currently about $50 on Amazon. It works really well…..except…..when it doesn’t. Let me explain. I’ve used it a couple…
